She set out to figure out why conventional medicine kept treating symptoms and calling it care. She started her career in 2008 as a dermatology-certified nurse practitioner at a high-volume private practice in New Jersey, eventually stepping into the role of Director of Nursing for the practice's surgical center. It was there, inside a system built for speed and volume, that she saw the gap firsthand: patients leaving with prescriptions but no answers, symptoms managed but never actually resolved. That gap is what sent her looking for a different way to practice medicine — one that asked _why_ before it reached for a prescription pad. More than a decade of advanced training later — in hormone optimization, longevity medicine, and root-cause healing — that search became Teleios Functional Wellness: a virtual and hybrid practice built around personalized, whole-person care for hormone optimization, metabolic health, chronic fatigue, gut dysfunction, and healthy aging. Heather's approach is grounded in science, not trends — and in the belief that the body is designed to heal when it's finally given what it actually needs. She holds advanced certifications including: - Institute of Functional Medicine: IFM Certified Practitioner - Advanced Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy (WorldLink) - SEEDS Scientific Research and Performance Peptide Certification - Integrative Health Practitioner (Levels 1 & 2) along with additional training in mold-related illness, mineral balance, precision nutrition, fitness, and nervous system regulation. Off the clock, she's a wife, a dance mom, and a competitive NPC Bikini athlete — showing up for her own health the same way she asks her patients to show up for theirs.
